What it is
What you see in the mirror is the surface. The OBSERV 520x looks further.
Using a sequence of ten controlled lighting modes, it captures layers of your skin that ordinary lighting does not show:
- Surface texture and relief
- Vascular structures beneath the surface
- Pigment distribution in the deeper layers
- Sebum and porphyrin activity
- The distribution of melanin and haemoglobin
How it is used
Each mode is photographed in the same fixed position, so your images can be compared side by side over time.
This is an imaging and assessment tool. It does not treat your skin. It informs the clinical conversation about what your skin is actually doing, so that any plan we discuss is based on what is there rather than what is visible in the mirror.
Assessment is performed at SK Medical Centre in Campsie as part of your skin consultation.
